There are 6784 Registered Nurses/Registered Midwives and 1166 Enrolled nurses on the register/roll in Tasmania as at 30 June 2007.
How do you know if a nurse is registered or enrolled?
Nurses renew their registration or enrolment each year and must carry their annual practising certificate as evidence to employers and the public that they are registered as a nurse.
Under the Nursing Act 1995, nurses registered or enrolled in Tasmania are required to renew their registration prior to 31 August each year. For further information please see Annual Renewal and Restoration of Name to the Register/Roll

Nurses have a legal responsibility to notify the Board of any change of details within 30 days of that change. Please see Annual Renewal
