Policy

The Board makes policies to fulfil its statutory obligations and facilitate the smooth operation of the organisation.
Policy decisions are informed through consultation with key members of the profession, stakeholders and the public.
The majority of the Board's policies that are relevant to the profession constitute by-laws pursuant to Section 11 (1) of the Nursing Act 1995, and can be viewed online by going to Publications.

Research

The Nursing Board of Tasmania is a leader in undertaking research in nursing regulation.
The Board's Competence to Practice Audit Five Year Study is a groundbreaking study of national significance. Copies of the study are now available.
The Board has recently completed a project to investigate the role and scope of practise of the enrolled nurse. Copies of the final report are available from the News page.
